Abstract

"Research on social media often focuses on individual application areas. Therefore, this collected volume aims to develop a balanced and critical analysis by expanding the borders of these application areas. The contributors explain, define, and classify the terms and concepts of social media as well as introduce and explain new information technologies and systems through examples. They also show the use of social media in the private sector. Furthermore, the design possibilities and the development process of social media applications are analyzed.
