dc.description.abstract | Nowadays, English has been taught as one of the main subject at school. Teaching
young learners (YL) is not the same as teaching adults because children have their
own learning styles. Since children enjoy playing, having fun and having
experience on their own, the learning and teaching process should be adapted to
their personality characteristics. Song is one kind of enjoyable activity for
children. The author of this research intends to demonstrate the benefits of
teaching English through songs for young learners in learning English. The
purpose of this study is to show how the songs could be used successfully to teach
children English as a foreign or second language (EFL/ESL). First, the rationale
for using songs in an EFL/ESL classroom will be discussed. Second, the study is
showed that using songs are highly developed English and motivated young
learners in language learning. Finally, there are some effective techniques that can
be offered to teach English through songs to young learners. | vi |
