dc.description.abstract | With the rapid development of information technology and computers, the concept of automated writing evaluation (AWE) and CALL have been established as the tools to support students to reach their aims in learning Writing. In particular, this tool can help them to improve their writing quality by improving their vocabulary, grammar structure, punctuation use, coherence and cohesion level. Especially when we talk about this tool, we cannot skip Grammarly, one of the most current helpful AWE tools that can boost the students’ writing level into the new advance. This research paper investigates the experience of students from the University of Economics and Finance Ho Chi Minh City (UEF) in using Grammarly. The data was gathered via the mixed method with pre-test and post-test in class to discover the changes in their level after the intervention. Then, twenty-two students from the experimental group were involved in the study to do the 5-point-Likert scale. Five answered the interview questions to show their perceptions towards the experience of using Grammarly. The research finding illustrated the students’ optimistic view about the strength of Grammarly. However, some unexpected drawbacks of this software will be stated in this paper for further development. | |
