Abstract

This fourth edition of The Craft of Research is the first to appear since the deaths of the book’s three original authors, Wayne C. Booth, Gregory G. Colomb, and Joseph M. Williams. In undertak- ing this revision, we— Joseph Bizup and William T. FitzGerald— faced the pleasurable and challenging task of reworking a book we have both long admired. Our goal has been to update and refine it without appropriating it from its original authors.
